NY 2026 Primary

2026 is a BIG election year, and it’s all starting now.

Every election is an opportunity to help shape the direction of our communities — as CWA District 1 Vice President Dennis Trainor put it, “This election holds a great deal of promise and opportunity for working people to fight for the country and communities we want to see, and elect legislative leaders who will not just listen to the needs of their constituents, but work alongside us to build a stronger New York.”How you vote is a personal decision. After examining the records of the candidates in this race,
CWA recommends incumbent Tom DiNapoli for New York State Comptroller
– no one has been a greater friend to CWA.“My father was a CWA member! This union helped an immigrant family become middle class Americans. That’s why I’ll always fight for workers and unions.”

Tom has been with us on every fight we’ve had over the last several decades.

Coming from a CWA family, Tom grew up with a deep understanding of the impact of good union jobs on building strong communities and raising a family. He’s stood with us on picket lines from our 2016 Verizon strike to our 2021 strike at Catholic Health, and beyond. He’s union strong and stands with us — because our fight is his fight.Tom has dedicated his life to public service. He began his career as trustee on the Mineola Board of Education — the first 18-year-old in New York State to hold public office. He spent ten years working in the telecommunications industry before being elected to the New York State Assembly, and has served as State Comptroller since 2010.Tom works every day to build an economy that protects workers and what we’ve earned. He has aggressively fought public corruption and the misuse of taxpayers’ dollars, and strengthened one of the nation’s top public pension funds to develop it into one of the most stable and best run public pension funds in the country. The results of this election will have a direct impact on our jobs, our bargaining strength, and our families. We need to fight for elected leaders who will fight for us, like Tom DiNapoli for New York State Comptroller. In many races like this one, the Primary Election will be more competitive than the General, so it’s vital that you get to the polls to cast your vote!Have you made your plan to vote?
